Bollywood actress Sridevi, who plays diverse roles with perfection, is not comfortable donning a negative avatar. The actress has reportedly refused to play a negative character in Abhishek Kapoor's next film.A Mid-Day report says that she was offered to play a vamp's role in the director's adaptation of Charles Dickens' Great Expectations. To be titledFitoor, this character is integral to the plot of the story and was made popular by Hollywood actor Robert De Niro.
The report further adds that the director was very keen to have the English Vinglish actress play this role. He had changed the script a bit to make it more female-oriented. However, Sridevi refused as she is not comfortable playing a negative role.
Katrina Kaif will be the lead actress of the film. Sushant Singh Rajput, who was also to be a part of the film, recently opted out of the project.
